Purpose of the Schedule Wheel:

This is a handy tool to find the finish date (FD), duration (D) or start date (SD) for any project, when any two items are provided.

How to use the Schedule Wheel Tool:

Calendar wheel (outer wheel) has every day of the year (except Feb 29 of a leap year) and the duration wheel (inner wheel) has the number of days and weeks in a year indicated on it.

Example 1:

Given:

Start Date (SD) – May 1 (put duration wheel’s large arrow on May 1 on the calendar wheel)

Finish Date (FD) – July 10 (looking at the calendar wheel, find July 10)

Answer:

Duration (D) – 70 days or 10 weeks (looking at the duration wheel opposite the July 10 date you’ll see 70 days or 10 weeks)

Example 2:

Given:

Start Date (SD) – May 1 (put duration wheel’s large arrow on May 1 on the calendar wheel)

Duration (D) – 70 days or 10 weeks (looking at the duration wheel find 70 days or 10 weeks)

Answer:

Finish Date (FD) – July 10 (looking at the calendar wheel opposite the 70 days or 10 weeks you’ll see July 10)

Example 3:

Given:

Finish Date (FD) – July 10 (looking at the calendar wheel, move the duration wheel point of 70 days or 10 weeks on to July 10)

Duration (D) – 70 days or 10 weeks (you already included this in the previous step)

Answer:

Start Date (SD) – May 1 (looking at the duration wheel’s starting arrow, you’ll see May 1 on the calendar wheel)
